Vineyard

Lochani is a family run winery producing miniscule quantities of superb hand crafted wines from a low yielding a vineyard located in a demanding meso-climate.

At an altitude of over 900m Lochani is one of the highest vineyards in Australia. With this altitude comes long cool evenings in late summer and autumn to assist in the slow ripening of the fruit.

Lochani is blessed with a truly cold climate; with regular winter snow falls and has several vintages available now, including Pinot Noir from 2001 and 2008 as well as a wonderful Sparkling Pinot and a 2008 Riesling which is perfect for any occasion.

When combined with artisan wine making techniques this climate results in wines of great character and complexity which truly reflect each grapes varietal characteristics in a way which cannot be matched in warmer climates or by larger production facilities.
